Pinero Island

Pinero Island (67°34′S 67°49′W / 67.567°S 67.817°WCoordinates: 67°34′S 67°49′W / 67.567°S 67.817°W) is an island 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) long and 0.5 nautical miles (0.9 km) wide, lying about 4.5 nautical miles (8 km) northwest of Pourquoi Pas Island, off the west coast of Graham Land. Discovered by the French Antarctic Expedition under Charcot, 1908–10, and named by him for Dr. Antonio F. Pinero, member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Republic, on whose motion the government voted unlimited credit to meet the needs of the expedition.
