Pileru or Piler (పీలేరు) is a town, Mandal and a Major gram panchayat and Legislative Assembly constituency in Chittoor district the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.[1] With a population approximately of sixty thousand, its surroundings are plenty of gree with Agricultural land where Groundnut is one of the major commercial crops here. This small town is located on junction of the National Highways (NH 18 and NH 205). It passes through a river(Pilla Eru – meaning A small water stream) which is why it got its name and this river reaches Pincha Dam. It is a center point to two neighbouring states Karnataka(KA), Tamil Nadu(TN) and easily accessible to the big cities there Chennai and Banglore. Piler is having a big role in terms of agriculture, education, commercial and political. The major cities surrounding this are Tirupathi, Madanapalli, Chittoor and Rayachoti and all were located at an exact distance of 56 km.

Pileru Assembly constituency is represented by incumbent Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy[2]

How to get there

Road

Can reach Peliru from Tirupathi, Chittoor, Rayachoti, Madana Palli by Road. The Piler is located at the center of all these four towns. Piler has very good APSRTC bus connectivity from all the these towns, all these four towns are located in four directions East, South, North and West respectively. Good road connectivity to Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad and plenty of buses running to Hyderabad Daily.

The airport port facility is available at Renigunta near Tirupati.

Rail

Pileru has a railway station on the Tirupathi-Pakala-Guntakal line. Now trains are running this station one TPTY SC EXP and TPTY AMI Express and SEVEN HILLS EXP runs between Tirupati and Secunderabad, and Two Passenger trains runs between Tirupati and Guntakal
