Pietro Salini (born 29 March 1959, in Rome, Italy) is an Italian businessman and chief executive of the Salini-Impregilo Group. In 2013, he was awarded a Knighthood for services to industry (Cavaliere del Lavoro) by the Italian President, Giorgio Napolitano.

Biography

After graduating in Economics and Business from La Sapienza University in Rome, Pietro Salini joined the Salini Group – founded in the 1930s – taking on increasingly significant roles in management and international development.

From 1987 to 1994 he was International Director General of Salini Costruttori SpA, and it was during this period that the overseas expansion of the Company accelerated.

In 1994, Pietro Salini was appointed to chief executive of the Salini Group.

In 2009 he took the decision to develop the strength of the Group through the acquisition of 60% of the Todini Costruzioni Generali Group, which today has reached 77.71%.

In July 2012 Pietro Salini was appointed chief executive of Impregilo SpA, in April 2013 the Salini Group achieved a 92% controlling stake in Impregilo following a takeover bid launched in February.

Today the Salini-Impregilo Group is present in over 60 countries across 5 continents, where it operates with approximately 32 thousand employees and manages a portfolio of construction orders of more than €20bn.

Pietro Salini is President of the board of directors of Co.Ge.Ma, Vice President of the Board of Managing Partners of Salini Simonpietro e C, and Governing Director of Pietro Salini & C. Srl. He is a member of the Executive Council of AGI – Association of General Companies, General Representative of the Executive Committee of UNI-Unindustria and a member of the Board of Confindustria.
