Early life

Piero Miguel Sainz Vergara was born in Davao City, but moved to Cebu City during his early childhood. His father's (James Michael) interest in Motorsports' FERRARI Formula 1 Team led him to be named after Piero Ferrari, the son of Enzo Ferrari and added "Miguel", a translation of F-1's greatest ([Michael Schumacher]), 7 time F1 World Champion. He is the eldest and the only boy of the three siblings of James and Josephine Sainz. He started school at the Ateneo de Davao University but only up to his 3rd grade as the family moved to Cebu in 2003 where he and her sisters went to Marie Ernestine School. However on his fourth year in high school, his passion for music and singing prompted him to try his luck in show business by auditioning in Starstruck V, thus his 4th year was stunted and while he endeavored for a home-study program in Manila. the critical demands of his a "budding" career was tough enough to handle, let alone juggle school responsibilities. His showbiz career has taken him across the other network where he has been casted in support roles as well as showcasing his singing talent in a Sunday Variety show. By 2012, the young star takes a Bachelor of Fine Arts course major in Advertising Arts at the University of San Carlos after he tones down a little from his exuberant activities in showbiz, but not entirely from his musical talents.

Career

He did several advertisements during his childhood including a television commercial ad for Jollibee with Serena Dalrymple and Aga Muhlach. In the year 2009, Piero joined Star Magic in Cebu together with Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010 housemate Fretzie Bercede and has been an endorser of Penshoppe together with his fellow-Cebuano and distant cousin Annette Osmeña.

He was awarded as Dangal ng Bayan’s Most Promising Young Talent Discovery for 2010 by Who's Who in the Philippines Foundation and the National Consumers Affair Foundation.

In the late 2010, Piero moved to GMA's rival, ABS-CBN wherein he will be seen in the youth-oriented variety show, Shout Out!.

Piero's acting debut in ABS-CBN is when he was chosen to play Dennis Sardenas in Mutya.

He was also a front, support act of the Irish pop band Westlife for their 2011 Gravity Tour.

StarStruck

Piero auditioned in Starstruck on September 26, 2009 during the time when typhoon Typhoon Ketsana battered the Philippines. At the first callback audition, Piero sang “Fly Me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra. On November 29, he was announced as one of the 14 finalist of the fifth season of Starstruck. His early elimination in the show, together with Princess Snell, became a shocker to his fans and supporters during the double-elimination week.
