Pictorial Carpet, Picture Carpet, Carpet Tableau or Rug Tableau (Persian: تابلو فرش) is an ornamental rug specialized for hanging on room and hall walls. The designs and samples on Picture carpets are completely different in compering of common floor rugs. Pictorial Carpet are generally made of silk but woolen ones particularly former have been weaved during carpet history. Pictorial carpets are usually framed to sell and use.

Samples

There are many designs on Pictorial Carpets, as an example landscapes, portraits, calligraphy texts, historical engravings, re-production of famous art and statues and so on. Pictorial carpets are not recognized when it was weaved together but many of the old rugs back in 19th & 20th century feature that the similar sort design are used such as hunting scene in Isfahan or Qom carpet as well as floral design in Isfahan and Tabriz carpet.[1]
