Phyllodesmium briareum is a species of sea slug, an aolid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Facelinidae.

Phyllodesmium briareum (one specimen at the bottom of the image) looks very similar to the soft coral Briareum violaceum (at the top of the image).

Distribution

The distribution of Phyllodesmium briareum includes Indo-Pacific and Australia.[1]

Description

The length of the slug is 7-25 mm.[1]

Phyllodesmium briareum uses camouflage and it looks like the soft coral Briareum violacea.

This species contains zooxanthellae.[1]

Ecology

Phyllodesmium briareum feeds on Briareidae.[1]
