Phulkharka is a village development committee in Dhading District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. It is one of the 50 VDC of Dhading district. This VDC lies in northern part of district. In 2011, it had a population of around 8,000 with 1,300 households.[citation needed] Tamang, Gurung, Chhetri, Brahmin, Magar, Damai, Kami, Sarki, Newar caste etc. live in this village. It has famous Ganga Jamuna falls, which lies in its ward no.4 Dhandakharka. This village is good source of water which are currently used for drinking, irrigation and hydroelectricity. So far it has only one higher secondary school named Mandali Higher Secondary School. More than 75% people are literate in this village. This VDC is stronghold of CPN UML in northern Dhading where this party won all previous local elections.[1]
