Phong Châu () is a historical site in Bạch Hạc District, Việt Trì, Phú Thọ Province, Vietnam, and also the name of Phong Châu district, Phú Thọ province. Traditionally it was the semi-legendary site of the first of the Hồng Bàng Dynasty capital of the first Vietnamese state, Văn Lang.[1] It is also where, according to Vietnamese legend, that the fairy Âu Cơ, wife of King Lạc Long Quân, gave birth to the 100 ancestors of the Vietnamese people.[2] commemorated at the Hùng Temple in modern Phong Châu district, Phú Thọ province. For this reason Phú Thọ province itself is often considered equivalent with the geography of the first state of Vietnam, with Phong Châu as its capital.

Information about Phong Châu as capital of Văn Lang is drawn from the 15th century book Đại Việt sử ký toàn thư (Đại Việt Complete History). As such it features on the list of historical capitals of Vietnam as the capital of the Hồng Bàng Dynasty (2879-258 BC)
