- Middle constrictor muscle
- Superior constrictor muscle
- Stylopharyngeus muscle
- Salpingopharyngeus muscle
- Palatopharyngeus muscle
They are innervated by the pharyngeal branch of the Vagus nerve (CN X) with the exception of the stylopharyngeus muscle which is innervated by the glossopharyngeal nerve (CN IX).
