Persephone Books is an independent publisher based in Bloomsbury, London. Founded in 1999 by Nicola Beauman, Persephone has a catalogue of 104 "neglected novels, diaries, poetry, short stories, non-fiction, biography and cookery books, mostly by women and mostly dating from the early to mid-twentieth century". [1] in paperback, with a dust jacket. They also publish a Persephone Notebook and a Biannual magazine, featuring details of their upcoming publications. Their books often have a dove grey cover with a cream label, and has printed endpapers, often of a fabric from the original year of publication. Persephone Books also holds events such as film screenings and book groups.
