Pergularia is a genus of the botanical family Asclepiadaceae. P. daemia Forsk. is a perennial twinning herb that grows along the roadsides of India and tropical and subtropical regions. Pharmacological activities include antiinflammatory, hepatoprotective, anticancer, antidiabetic, antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, analgesic, antiinfertility and central nervous system depressant activity. The genus contains some 12 species:[2]
