Politics of Turkey Political parties Elections |
The People's Voice Party (Turkish Halkın Sesi Partisi, also abbreviated to HAS PARTİ, which literally means "PURE PARTY") was a political party in Turkey. It was founded on November 1, 2010 by Numan Kurtulmuş and closed on September 19, 2012.[1]
In September 2012, two-year-old conservative-oriented People's Voice Party (HSP) dissolves itself and joined the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) with a majority of its delegates’ votes.[2] In July 2012, following long-held speculation that Numan Kurtulmuş was on Prime Minister Erdoğan’s mind as his possible successor as party head, Erdoğan personally proposed to Kurtulmuş the idea of merging the parties under the umbrella of the AKP.
