The Pear Fruit Borer (Pempelia heringii) is a moth of the Pyralidae family. It is found in Japan and China and has also been reported from Hawaii.
There are two generations per year.
Larvae have been reported feeding on apple, pear and Chinese hawthorn. They feed inside young fruit and eject frass from the entry hole causing visible damage.
