Pembridge Hall is a non-selective preparatory school for girls located in Notting Hill, London, England.[1] It is part of the Alpha Plus Education Group with Wetherby Pre-Prep, an all-boys school located nearby. Both schools occupy part of a row of Victorian buildings known as Pembridge Hall which it shares with an Imperial College hall of residence and several small businesses.[2]
History
Pembridge Hall School was originally founded as a small convent school, Convent of Our Lady of Sion, in 1979 by the Sisters of Sion.[3] The original convent school dates back to the mid-19th century before it was merged to form the present-day Sion Manning Catholic Girls' School.
It moved to 18 Pembridge Square in 1983 and was sold to Alpha Plus Education Group in 2002. Since the school has expanded considerably and added more year groups. In 2003 it bought 10 Pembridge Square which now houses the Senior School (Years 3-6).[4][5]
Academics
Besides the regular National Curriculum subjects, girls also study Foreign Languages and Religious Studies and participate in a variety of extracurricular activities.
The 2010 ISI inspection report commended the school for its excellence in teaching, pastoral care and relationship with parents.[4]
