Pehowa is a city and a municipal committee in Kurukshetra district in the Indian state of Haryana.
Geography
Pehowa is located at 29°59′N 76°35′E / 29.98°N 76.58°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 224 metres (734 feet).
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Pehowa had a population of 83,547. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Pehowa has an average literacy rate of 89%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 85%, and female literacy is 76%. In Pehowa, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age. Punjabi dialects are spoken in the countryside, while Hindi is the official language.
