Pegasystems Inc. is a publicly traded American software provider based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with offices in North America, Europe, and Asia.

The company has been recognized by top analyst firms as the market leader in Business Process Management technology, and a leader Customer Relationship Management technology.


History

Pegasystems was founded in 1983 by CEO and Chairman Alan Trefler, a former world chess champion. The company went public in 1996 and began trading on the NASDAQ exchange under the symbol PEGA.

On October 10 2013, Pegasystems acquired Antenna Software, a mobile application development platform vendor, for $27.7 million. [1]

On March 15, 2010, Pegasystems announced that it had acquired the enterprise software company Chordiant for approximately $161.5 million.

Pegasystems counts many of the world's largest organizations (Fortune 500) as customers. These customers are in financial services, insurance, healthcare, communications & media, life sciences, government and beyond.
