Peer Schneider (born April 9, 1971) is one of the founders of the video game and entertainment website IGN.[1] He is currently Senior Vice President of Content & Publisher at IGN Entertainment. He oversees all of the network's editorial content, including that of IGN, GameSpy, TeamXbox, and Rotten Tomatoes.
Peer is best known for running N64.com, a popular website dedicated to the Nintendo 64 which later served as the foundation for the IGN network. Before that he founded and ran the popular Nintendo fansite Nintendojo. In addition to appearing in numerous news and documentary TV programs, such as Discovery's Rise of the Video Game,[2] Peer's face is used in a popular internet meme known as Gaijin 4Koma,[3] which has appeared on t-shirts, in manga, and even as an Xbox 360 achievement icon and PlayStation 3 Trophy icon in the game BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger.
Originally from Germany, Peer graduated from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. He then moved to the United States and has attended UC Berkeley's graduate program in journalism.
Peer Schneider is married, has three children and resides in Northern California.
