Peenya is the name of an industrial area of the Bangalore city in India. It is considered to be one of the largest industrial areas in Asia.[1][2] Peenya lies on Bangalore - Mangalore Highway ( NH-48 ). It houses small, medium, and large scale industries. The industrial area is known for engineering, electrical goods such as: CNC Machine tools transformers, motors and generators, textile (silk), hydraulics and machine tool industries. The industrial area was established in late 1970s. Well known companies in India like Ace DesignersWipro Technologies, ABB, Bharat Fritz Werner have their factories at Peenya.
