Paul Palnik
Paul Palnik (born 1946) is a Jewish-American artist, writer and educator.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Palnik introduced kabbalistic spiritual themes into his cartoons in the 1980s and 1990s. His cartoons combine graphic design, drawing, poetry and literature. The images are pen and ink drawings and often rendered in minute detail. The cartoons are like a one page book, dispensing wit, wisdom and spiritual advice. Palnik has described his work as centered on universal, spiritual, prophetic themes.[citation needed]
Many of Palnik's original drawings are in the collection of the Ohio State University libraries in Columbus, Ohio and his work is also represented in the National Cartoon Collection in New York City. Numerous large paintings by Palnik are in the collection of Camp Ramah in Conover, Wisconsin, where he is artist in residence. His paintings strive to depict humanity's relationship with God. Palnik lives in Columbus, Ohio.
