Paul Bowman-MacDonald is a fictional character in the BBC1 Scottish TV series Monarch of the Glen. Paul is played by Lloyd Owen.

Paul is the son of Hector MacDonald and half-brother to Archie MacDonald. Paul arrived in Glenbogle thinking Glenbogle's ghillie Golly Mackenzie was his father. However, Golly revealed this not to be true and told Paul and Archie the truth. Paul came to live in Glenbogle in series 5, and set up the Glenbogle Activity Centre. Paul had a short relationship with local distillery chairwoman Amanda MacLeish. In series 6 Laird Archie went to live in New Zealand with wife Lexie MacDonald, and Paul became Laird. Lexie returned unhappy to Glenbogle and kissed Paul, but they decided not to further their relationship, and Lexie returned to her husband and New Zealand. Paul and local farmer Isobel Anderson always flirted, but didn't realise that they both liked each other. They eventually got together at the end of series 6, after Paul and his girlfriend Lucy Ford split up.

Paul's lairdship was threatened at the end of series six when it was revealed that Paul's uncle Donald MacDonald was the rightful Laird because of Paul's illegitimacy. However in the end, Paul won the battle for lairdship against Donald and officially became Laird of Glenbogle. In the seventh series, Paul starts feeling as if he is the Laird and that people now trust him; however, Paul finds that Glenbogle once again has financial problems and has to impress cosmonaut Viktor Zinchenko and his wife Catriona to resolve the problems. To make matters worse, beautiful shepherdess Iona Maclean tries to force money out of Paul to repair his tenants' crofts. Paul falls for Iona but ends up burning down her croft and to his delight she agrees to live at the Big House.

At the end of series seven, Malcolm MacGregor, Iona's ex-fiancee returns to the glen, and the two agree to marry; Paul is put as Malcolm's best man, and at the wedding, Paul tells Iona he loves her and she gives back her love to Paul herself, leaving Malcolm on his own. Paul is forced to put the estate up for sale, and manages to persuade his tenants to buy the estate for him, just before businessman Peter Finlay buys the estate in aid of his personal vendetta against Hector and the estate.
