Pau Masó (born January 14, 1986) is a Spanish actor, film director, producer, writer and model. He made his film debut in Haunted Poland (2012), which was an experimental project created by him and Ewelina Lukaszewska. He shifted to adult roles with Aleksandr's Price (2013), which was written, directed, edited, produced and starring him. The actor is paving his way as an indie filmmaker with other projects, including; Keep the Party Going, One Minute, Bloody Night and Who's There?.[1][2]
Film career
Masó has acted on a variety of short films, and the actor stars in, and directs Haunted Poland, which is due for release in 2012.[3] Who's There? has received good critics.[4] Masó is in pre-production for The App Killer, Night of Fear (a Panamanian production written and directed by David Szymanski) and Aleksandr's Price.[5][6][7]
Aleksandr's Price
In summer 2010, Masó came up with the idea of making a movie about a male prostitute. He had planned to make it a sci-fi film. However, it wasn't until 2011 when the actor started writing the film on its entirety. The film was then adapted into a realistic film that would only require good actors, and no special effects. On January 2012, production of the film started under the working title Simple Moves, and by March shooting began in the city of New York.[8] Masó was responsible for scouting the talent, the locations, and basically running the entire production under his responsibility. The film was shoot on the period of approximately 25 days; a period that was short, given all the locations and scenarios that were needed to complete the film.
The film's first promotional teaser was released in April 2012. The movie tells the story of an illegal Russian boy in Manhattan who after losing his mother to suicide, is drawn into becoming a male prostitute.[9] In a recent interview with a gay Russian magazine, the actor was quoted saying "To wrap this up, I also want to say that I find it highly insulting that people want to use religion to excuse their hate towards other people, rather they have a different sexual orientation, color, race or religion beliefs. There is just no excuse for that no matter what".[10]
The film's final title in general release was changed from Simple Moves to Aleksandr's Price.
Modeling
Masó first started modeling at age 17, after he graduated from photography school. Years later, he signed with Model Management INC, a NYC and Los Angeles based modeling company. He is currently represented, non exclusively, by Seven Model Management, a Barcelona modeling agency.[11][12]
