Patuakhali Sadar (Bengali: পটুয়াখালি সদর) is an Upazila of Patuakhali District in the Division of Barisal, Bangladesh.
Geography
Patuakhali Sadar is located at 22°21′15″N 90°19′05″E / 22.3542°N 90.3181°E . It has 55194 units of house hold and total area 439.51 km².
Demographics
As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Patuakhali Sadar has a population of 306517. Males constitute 50.12% of the population, and females 49.88%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 152588. Patuakhali Sadar has an average literacy rate of 42.6% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1]
