Patsy May (March 20, 1934 - January 1 2013) was an American actress, probably best known for playing Baby Patsy in the Our Gang shorts.
Early Life
Not much is known about Patsy. She was born in Gosport, Indiana in 1934. Her mother died when she was only 19 days old, so her maternal grandparents took her and gave her her new last name, Dittemore.
Our Gang
Patsy joined Our Gang in 1935, in the short, Little Papa. Although a famous character, seen in many publicity shots and title cards of the gang, she only appeared in 4 other shorts after Little Papa. The 1936 releases, Divot Diggers, and Bored Of Education, and 2 1937 releases, Reunion in Rhythm, and Our Gang Follies of 1938.
Personal Life
Patsy May died on January 1, 2013 in Smithfield, North Carolina at the age of 78.[1] Her death went almost completely unknown until May 2013.
