Patrik Martinec (born September 4, 1971 in Jilemnice, Czech Republic) is a former professional ice hockey forward who played his last 5 seasons for Anyang Halla of the Asia League Ice Hockey, from South Korea. He has garnered much popularity for his puck-handling ability. A long-time Halla, Martinec is the franchise's all-time leading scorer, while also holding franchise records for most points. While playing for Halla, he earned the nickname "Grandfather" (Korean: 할아버지) because of the age difference between him and most of the players on the team.[1]
On June 18. 2010, Martinec was officially hired as assistant coach. He signed 1-year deal.
