Patrick Madrid

Patrick Madrid (born 1960), is an American Catholic author, radio host, apologist, the host of several EWTN television and radio series, and the publisher of Envoy Magazine.

He is the author of 16 books and booklets on Catholic themes, including the popular Surprised By Truth series of conversion testimony books. He served as vice president for eight years (1988 through 1995) at Catholic Answers.[1]

Biography

Patrick Madrid has been active in apologetics since 1987. He hosts the Thursday edition of the EWTN "Open Line" radio broadcast (3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET), heard across the U.S. on approximately 185 AM and FM stations, as well as on Sirius Satellite Radio Network. He has conducted hundreds of apologetics seminars, in English and Spanish, at parishes, conferences, and universities across the United States, as well as throughout Europe, and in Canada, Latin America, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. He is a regular presenter at the Franciscan University of Steubenville’s "Defending the Faith" summer conferences and has been a guest lecturer in theology at Christendom College in their "Major Speakers" program. He has engaged in public debates with Protestant, Mormon, and other non-Catholic spokesmen. He serves as the director of the Envoy Institute of Belmont Abbey College.[1]

He earned a bachelor of science degree in business management from the University of Phoenix, as well as a bachelor of philosophy degree (B.Phil.) and a master's degree (M.A.) in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical College Josephinum, Columbus, Ohio. He has also done graduate studies in theology at the University of Dallas. He and his wife and family live in Ohio.[1]
