Parola is a city and a municipal council in Jalgaon district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is located on Hajira (Surat) - Dhule - Kolkatta national highway 6 Municipal Council established by British Govt. before freedom.
Geography
Parola is located at 20°53′N 75°07′E / 20.88°N 75.12°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 261 metres (856 feet).
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Parola had a population of 34,800. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Parola has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 61%. In Parola, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age. Famous personalities of Parola are : Rani Laxmibai :Great warrior in history. Mr.Sadashivrao Nevadkar was established the city around 1600-1700 century. Mr. Sadashivrao was cousin of Great King of Zansi Mr.Gangadharrao Nevadkar (Husband of Rani Laxmibai). King Gangadhar was gifted the city Parola to Sadashivrao as JAGIR. Mr. Sadashivrao build Fort in Parola as well as 5 big gets called DARWAJA's. Fort & Delhi Darwaja is still have it. Shri Hari Narayan Apte : famous marathi writer was born in parola and then shifted to pune., Mr.Satish Patil:Former MLA Ex-Minister and consistently involved in development and in politics. Dr.Avinash Kumar Jha: One of the famous Doctor of Parola,Always helping poor people and With in short period of span achieved fame & Name in Parola,but due to Illness died in January 2001.
Balaji Temple
Parola is famous for Shree Balaji and Great Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. Shree Balaji first arrived in Parola 345 years ago. It's very old temple with huge stone entrance called "Nagarkhana" and in front of the temple there is "Garudadhwaj"
