Parkdale Mall is a mall located in Beaumont, Texas that opened in 1973.[1] The owner of Parkdale Mall is CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. The mall's anchor stores include Bealls, JCPenney, Dillard's, Macy's, Forever 21 (known as XXI), and Sears. KBTV-TV, the Beaumont-Port Arthur Fox affiliate (formerly NBC), is located inside the mall.

Former anchors

  • Dillard's Women (merged with Dillard's Mens in 2007, existing location now demolished, site now Beall's)
  • Montgomery Ward (replaced by Foley's in 2002, now Macy's in 2006) [2]
  • Linens-N-Things (closed December 23, 2008 due to chain bankruptcy, now Ashley Furniture)
  • Steve & Barry's (closed December 26, 2008 due to chain bankruptcy, site now home of the new Old Navy)

Renovations

In 2003, the mall underwent a significant renovation including new paint, flooring, lighting, furniture and, few years later, a new exterior featuring a colorful tan color scheme replacing the white 1970s look.

Dillard's Women and Hurricane Rita

Dillard's once had two stores, Dillard's Men's & Kids, and Dillard's Women's & Home Store until September 24, 2005, when Hurricane Rita hit Beaumont, Texas. Extensive damage was caused to the Dillard's Women's & Home Store. In 2006, Dillard's Women's and Home Store joined with the Dillard's Men's and Kids, making it a sole location. The Women's store had been near the food court and has been demolished. The former Dillard's building is now the site of a relocated Bealls.
