Parampara (Malayalam: പരമ്പര, meaning the succession) is a 1990 Malayalam film directed by Sibi Malayil, written by S. N. Swamy, and starring Mammootty, Sumalatha, and Suresh Gopi. Mammootty plays two roles in the film, portraying both Johny, the protagonist, and Lawrence, his father.
The film was remade in Hindi as Phool Aur Kaante (1991) starring Ajay Devgan and Amrish Puri and also in Telugu as Varasudu (1993) starring Nagarjuna Akkineni and Krishna Ghattamaneni.
Plot
When his son is kidnapped by rival gang, Johny teams up with his estranged father (who had left Johny's mother when Johny was young) to rescue the kidnapped child.
