Paolo Rotondo

Paolo Rotondo (b. Italy, c. 1971-) Paolo is an accomplished filmmaker who has worked in New Zealand’s Film, Theatre and Television industries for over twenty years. His experience in filmmaking, ranges from acting, to producing, to writing and directing. Paolo has starred as the lead in two feature films 'The Ugly' and 'Stickmen'.

He wrote and directed the short films 'The Freezer' and 'Dead Letters' both supported by the New Zealand Film Commission that have won International acclaim and are studied in in New Zealand High schools.

Paolo's has penned major Theatre shows. 'Little Che' based on the motorcycle diaries and 'Strange resting palces' co-written with Rob Mokaraka and based on family stories of the Maori Battalion in Italy in WW2.

Paolo has acted on numerous TV shows and been nominated for his acting work on two occasions.

In 2013 Paolo wrote and directed his first feature film 'Orphans & Kingdoms'.

Personal life

Paolo Rotondo is married to Renee Mark. He has two children, Sofia and Dario. They live on Waiheke Island.
