Pankow (Italian band)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pankow is an Italian/German Electronic & EBM band, formed in 1979 and headed by Maurizio Fasolo. In its early days, the songs were in German (e.g., "Das Wodkachaos"), with singer Alex Spalck. Like the East German band of the same name, Pankow was named after the Pankow district of Berlin. They split up in 1993, but released the highly complex but unsuccessful CD "Pankow" in 1996, with Gianluca Becuzzi of Limbo as singer of the all-Italian lyrics. As a result of the lack of success of the 1996 release, the band split up again, and reformed in 2003 with original front man Alex Spalck. They released two new CD's in the 00's, Life is Offensive and Great Minds Against Themselves Conspire. The band is very well respected with fans of electronic music.[citation needed]
