Paniliakos (also uncommonly Panileiakos) was founded in 1958 from the union of four teams from the city of Pyrgos (Ethnikos, Iraklis, A.E.K., Apollon). It was a vision of three people: Lampaounas, Galanopoulos and Liatsis.

Paniliakos was the team of Serbia and Montenegro international Predrag Đorđević, before moving to Olympiacos, Greece international Stelios Giannakopoulos, and of Vassilis Lakis, also a Greece international.

Paniliakos had fallen from the top level of the Greek League system, to the 4th level, but has since been promoted and as of 2013-14, plays at the second tier.
