Palmyra is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Melville.
It was the home of Catherine Helen Spence, the first Australian woman to become a political candidate after standing for the Federal Convention in Adelaide. Catherine Spence was a notable social and political activist in South Australia, who came to South Australia on the ship 'Palmyra' in 1839.
