Palmas is a small city in the south of the Brazilian state of Paraná. Palmas is located in the mountainous area of Paraná and is in the mesoregion of Southcentral Paraná. Palmas is the capital of the microregion of the same name. Its coordinates are 26.483667/26°29'3" S and the longitude is 51.99233/48°59'26" W. The population in 2004 is 38,011 and the area is 1,586.1 km² The elevation is 1,056 m.
