The State of Qatar is a sovereign Arab emirate located in Southwest Asia on the Qatar Peninsula protruding from the northeasterly coast of the much larger Arabian Peninsula.[1] It is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the south; otherwise the Persian Gulf surrounds the state.
