Oumar Tatam Ly is Prime Minister of Mali since 5 September 2013, being the first full Prime Minister after the Northern Mali conflict.[1] He was previously a special adviser at the Central Bank of West African States. Notably the post of reconciliation minister was created with Cheick Ouamar Diarrah as the first minister.[2]
Oumar Tatam Ly was born on 28 November 1963 in Paris, France. He holds a degree from Panthéon-Sorbonne University and ESSEC Business School.
At the end of November 2013, his proposed visit to Kidal in Azawad and the consequent police repression of protests against the protesters led to the MNLA aborting the ceasefire agreement.
