Osman is a name of differing origins; it is both an English-origin surname and an Arabic-origin given name.

English Origin: Osman /ɒzˈmən/ is used only as a surname in English-speaking countries. In England, the name is not very popular but is still used.

Arabic Origin: Osman (pronounced [ˈosmaːn]) (also spelled Usman) is the Turkish, Persian, Pakistani, Indian and Bosnian version of the male Arabic given name Uthman.
