Orthodoxy in Montenegro
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Eastern Orthodoxy is one of the three main religions in Montenegro, and the largest. Over 465,000, forming 75% of Montenegro's population, are Orthodox Christians. In Montenegro the prime Church is the Serbian Orthodox Church, i.e. its Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, which gathers most of the Eastern Orthodox faithful.
There is also the minor uncanonical Montenegrin Orthodox Church which is not recognized by any Eastern Orthodox churches affiliated with the Patriarchate of Constantinople. It claims the Churches and Monasteries in possession of the SOC.
