Ormond is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Ormond on the Frankston railway line. Ormond is classed as a Host Station and is in Myki Zones 1+2 overlap.

Facilities

Ormond is located at the northern end of the North Road level crossing, with station access from North and Katandra Roads.

The station consists of an island layout and side platform; Platforms 1 & 2 (island platform) has a large brick building, while platform 3 has a smaller brick building. A large Myki ticket vending machine is located at the entrance to platform 1, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. Additional myki ticket vending machines are located at the entrance to the island platform, and at the entrance to platform 3.

There is also a bus stop directly outside platform 3, which is the route 625 bus to Chadstone.[1]

The station, being classifed as a Host Station, is serviced from 6:30am - 9:00am Monday to Friday.

History

Ormond station opened on 19 December 1881 as North Road, and was renamed Ormond in 1897.[2]
