ORIGIN PC is a custom personal computer manufacturing company located in Miami, Florida. Founded by former employees of Alienware in 2009, ORIGIN PC assembles customized high-performance gaming and professional-use desktop and laptop computers from third-party components, with custom paint and logo options.

History

Soon after the acquisition of Alienware by Dell[1] former executives Kevin Wasielewski, Richard Cary and Hector Penton formed ORIGIN PC in Miami, Florida. The company said that the name ORIGIN came from the company's intention to get back to the roots of building custom, high-performance computers for gamers and hardware enthusiasts.[2] The first products were the GENESIS desktop and the EON18 laptop, followed by the BIG O Custom Gaming Desktop PC, the eon 13s, the eon 15s, and the eon18, replaced by the eon 17s.

On January 7th, 2014 at CES, ORIGIN PC announced and launched their own exclusive GENESIS (Full-Tower) and MILLENNIUM (Mid-Tower) Desktop Case, designed from the ground up by ORIGIN PC. The new GENESIS and MILLENNIUM desktop case features Variable Mounting, an exclusive ORIGIN PC case feature that allows the motherboard to be mounted in 4 different orientations: Standard ATX, Inverted ATX, 90 degrees or Inverted 90 degrees, and all inside a single desktop chassis design.

Competitors

The company primarily competes with other custom PC builders such as Falcon Northwest, Velocity Micro, AVADirect, Puget Systems, Maingear, Cyberpower, and iBuypower.
