Optimax is a UK-based laser eye treatment specialist which has 38 locations nationwide.[1]
Laser eye surgery in the UK is dominated by three main companies Optical Express, Ultralase and Optimax which, in total, account for approximately 56% of clinics in the UK.[2]
History
Optimax was founded by Russell Ambrose in 1991 and he was also the clinic’s first patient.[3]
The company was created with the intention of bringing laser eye surgery to those who needed it at a price significantly lower than traditional refractive eye surgery.[4]
Optimax were the first company to introduce Femtosecond laser IntraLASIK nationwide.[5]
