Oppeid is a village and the administrative centre of the municipality of Hamarøy in Nordland county, Norway. The village is located about 90 kilometres (56 mi) southwest of the town of Narvik. It is located right next to the village of Presteid on a small isthmus of land between the Kaldvågfjorden and the Presteidfjorden. The 0.77-square-kilometre (190-acre) village has a population (2011) of 497. The population density is 645 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,670 /sq mi).[1] The village is home to the Knut Hamsun videregående skole (upper secondary school), a museum, and cafe.[3]
