Dr. Omar Davies (born 28 May 1947) is the current Minister of Transport, Works and Housing and the former Minister of Finance of Jamaica, he has been succeeded by Audley Shaw & by extension Dwight Nelson and Don Wehby. He received his doctorate in Economics from Northwestern University. His service in academia includes work at Stanford University (1973 - 1976) and the University of the West Indies. He currently serves as the opposition spokesman on Finance and he is the current Member of Parliament for South St. Andrew; an infamous PNP garrison constituency.
