Olszewo Węgorzewskie [ɔlˈʂɛvɔ vɛnɡɔˈʐɛfskʲɛ] (German: Olschöwen, from 1938-45 Kanitz) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Budry, within Węgorzewo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland, close to the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia.[1] It lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) north-west of Budry, 10 km (6 mi) north of Węgorzewo, and 100 km (62 mi) north-east of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Before 1945, the area was part of Germany (East Prussia).
