Company background
Olive Telecom is Headquartered in Gurgaon, India and is a privately held Convergence Solutions Device Developer with presence in mobile phones, laptop computers, netbooks, tablet computers, mobile computing, wireless broadband and convergence devices.
Olive Telecom today claims to have an intense relationship with over 28 leading mobile service operators;[1] working with cutting edge devices to improve their bottom-lines.
Olive Telecom currently has its own two Design Houses in India focusing on Industrial Design and ICT/Convergence products. The company also has two design and R&D facilities in Nanjing and Shanghai in China for the mobile computing and telephony products.
Olive Telecom has a product portfolio across the areas - WCDMA, CDMA, GSM and EV-DO handsets and smart-phones, Mobile Computing Devices, Advanced data modems for wireless broadband. A strategic partnership with Qualcomm,[2] has also brought about changes.
In 2006, the holding company entered into a joint venture[3] with the $20 billion Haier Group, to form Haier Telecom India, with a mandate of creating leadership for the Haier brand in the CDMA handset segment.
Haier Telecom (India)Private Limited, Joint Venture owned by Olive and Haier China, was awarded the "Fastest Growing Brand" award from Qualcomm at their Partner Meet at Oberoi Hotel, Delhi[4]
In Feb 2014 The Kenyan Education Ministry awarded Olive Telecommunications PVT Limited the tender for supply of laptops to public primary schools at a cost of Sh24.6billion. Making the announcement, Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi said this was the lowest bidder compared to Haier Electrical Appliances Corporation Limited and Hewlett-Packard, HP who were also shortlisted.
The company is expected to distribute 400,000 laptops to various schools in the first batch before the end of March this year.[5]

Olive Zipbook
Olive Telecom has given India’s first ever[6] range of Zipbooks (3G Embedded Netbooks). Currently it offers one 3G Enabled Netbook the Olive X107H. The Olive Zipbook runs on an Intel Atom N270 Processor, has a 1GB RAM and a 160 GB hard drive. A Complete Specifications list is detailed as follows

The Olive Pad has been touted as an able and capable challenger to the popular Apple iPad. The device undercuts the Apple iPad's price tag significantly as it is priced for a shade under Rs 25,000 versus the Apple iPad [10][11]
After The Release of Android 4.0 ICS ( Ice Cream Sandwich ), 4 New Tablets were added to the OlivePad Series, The OlivePad V-TR200, OlivePad V-T300, OlivePad V-T400 And OlivePad V-T500, Competing the Cheap Android 2.3 and Android 4.0 Tablets . The OlivePad V-TR200 and OlivePad V-T400 Feature Android 2.3, Though the OlivePad VT-400 has a 806 MHz Processor but the OlivePad V-TR400 has a 1 GHz Processor . On the Other Hand The OlivePad V-T300 and OlivePad V-T500 Have a 1 GHz Processor and Android 4.0 ICS .
