Okay Yokuşlu (Turkish pronunciation: [okaj jokuʃɫu], born 9 March 1994) is a Turkish footballer, currently playing for Kayserispor,[1] having transferred for a record fee from Izmir club Altay.[2]

Career

On 27 June 2011, at the age of 17, he signed for Kayserispor for a record transfer fee for Altay of TRY 2.3 million (€1 million).[1] He made his Süper Lig debut in the starting line-up in which Kayserispor were beaten by Antalyaspor with 0–1 final score, on 16 September 2011.[2]

In January 2013, it was rumoured that SkyBet Championship side Middlesbrough F.C had entered discussions to sign Yokuşlu on loan, with a view to a permanent deal. It is believed Yokuşlu has expressed a desire to play in England and the appointment of Aitor Karanka is seen as a major attraction for the ambitious young Turk.

International career

Okay featured for Turkey's U-20 side in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup on home soil. On 28 June 2013, he scored a world-class goal to give Turkey a 2-1 victory over Australia and a place in the knockout stages.[3]
