Oier Sanjurjo Maté, simply known as Oier (born 25 May 1986 in Estella-Lizarra, Navarre), is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for CA Osasuna as a defender or a defensive midfielder.
Football career
A product of hometown side CA Osasuna's youth ranks, Oier made his La Liga debut on 24 September 2008 in a game against Deportivo de La Coruña, taking over for Nacho Monreal in the 10th minute of an eventual 0–0 home draw. Although he spent most of the season with the B-team, he still managed a further nine league appearances.
In his first full professional season, Oier started the first five matches at right back, as starter César Azpilicueta was away on international duty.
