Oberthur Technologies is a French secure technology company, providing security services in smart cards, printing, identity, and cash protection.[2] As of 2008, Oberthur's revenue was €882 million.[1] Oberthur Technologies is the successor of the Oberthur printing which was founded in 1842 by the master printer and lithographer, François Charles Oberthur. In 1984, Jean-Pierre Savare took over the security printing activity (the two other activities of letterpress and publishing were taken over by other buyers) and founded Oberthur Technologies. Thanks to the entrepreneurial skills of its General management and the dynamism of its employees, Oberthur Technologies has grown immensely and taken the right technological decisions to become a unique, international, forward-looking group.
