Obed (biblical figure)

In the Tanakh, Obed (Hebrew: עובד, Oved) was a son of Boaz and Ruth,[1] the father of Jesse, and the grandfather of David. He is one of Jesus' ancestors in the genealogy found in the Book of Matthew.[2]
