Oare (Romanian for Really) is a song by Romanian recording artist Inna, originally recorded in late November 2007 and then re-recorded in August 2012. Written and produced by Play & Win, it was intended to serve as a single release following "INNdiA". But because of the poor interest in the effort, the release was ultimately cancelled and "More Than Friends" was released instead. Furthermore, "Oare" was not part of the track list of Inna's third studio album Party Never Ends.
Background
"Oare" served as an official single to be sent to mainstream radio stations in Romania, following the top ten hit singles "Crazy Sexy Wild" and "INNdiA". "Oare" is entirely sung in Romanian, being the third song Inna records solely in her native language, after the 2009 promo recording "O, ce veste minunată!" (Christmas special) and after her 2012 smash hit "Tu şi Eu". The song speaks about a previous relationship of Inna's, and how she keeps on wondering if her love interests still knows how it hurts. The 2012 version hit the radio stations in Romania on November 1st, 2012. On YouTube, the original upload from 2009 gathered almost six million views, while the radio version surpassed 200,000 views as of November 2012. A karaoke version was also uploaded to Inna's YouTube account on October 17, 2012 including the lyrics of the song. The song was shortly taken off the playlists of all radio stations, and its status as a single was removed.
Reception
As radio stations started to play the song and added it to their heavy rotation lists, it started gathering spins on nationwide radio stations such as Kiss FM or Magic FM, being Inna's first song to enter the Adult contemporary radio format. Even though, it wasn't eligible to enter the Romanian Top 100 within its first weeks of rotation, because the audience interest was still kept on Inna's previous releases "Tu şi Eu" and "INNdiA" and as of November 2012 her promotional recording "J'Adore", an up-tempo track was also received with more interest from radio DJs and listeners.
Promotion
Inna performed an acoustic version of the song live during her Rock the Roof session in Bucharest. The video was uploaded on YouTube to general acclaim from critics. Elsewhere, Inna has also performed the song at certain occasions.
