O Malli is an upcoming Telugu drama film written and directed by Ramya Sri. She is also playing the lead along with Raghu Babu and LB Sriram. This makes the debut of Ramya Sri as a director. Known for playing glamorous through the entire career, Ramya herself confirmed that O Malli will be a turning point in her career and the most challenging one she ever had. She even shaved her head for this high octane role. Trailers and still speculates that the movie is inspired from the 2000 Italian film Malèna. However the crew denied the statement and said that the movie is based on true events and holds a great message for the society. O Malli will be releasing on 28 November 2013.[1]

This is the story of the dreams of a village woman and the troubles she had to face in her life.

Production

O Malli is produced by B.S.Prasanth Kumar under R A Entertainments banner. The shooting started in early 2012. The music is from Sunil Kashyap and veteran singers which includes Jesudas,Karthik and K.S.Chitra lend their voice for the album. Ramya Sri shaved her head and went totally bald for the film. The trailer along with the posters were released on May 12 became an instant hit on the net and went viral. Even before the release, Ramya Sri has received wide acclaim and appreciation for her efforts.[2] During the shooting, Ramya was even hospitalized in Jubilee Hills Appollo Hopspital due to some health issues.[3]
